This is a fun and educational craft that will get kids outdoors as well as provide for an opportunity to discuss a simple chemical reaction. Here is a video of a snow volcano in action and an explanation of the chemical reaction. All you need is a small jar, dish soap, baking soda, red food coloring, and vinegar to make a snow volcano! Adding the dish soap results in a foamier eruption.
